Apart from Dumai City, the Indonesian Vice President K.H Ma’ruf Amin also handed over awards in the form of providing fiscal incentive funds for the current year 2024 in the category of accelerating stunting reduction to 130 regional governments, consisting of 9 provinces, 99 districts and 22 cities. Appreciation was also given to 15 villages performing well in efforts to accelerate stunting reduction.
In his direction, the Indonesian Vice President K.H Ma’ruf Amin hopes that these awards and incentives can increase motivation to continue working.
For the sustainability of the stunting reduction program in the future, Ma’ruf left several messages for attention. First, make previous program evaluations the main input for future program improvements.
“The leadership’s commitment to accelerating stunting reduction at the central and regional levels must continue to be maintained. Interventions must be sharpened so that programs are more targeted, starting from providing more accurate target group data to regular monitoring,” said the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Second, strengthen cross-sector coordination at the center and regions through clear division of roles. According to him, the stunting reduction program is a massive national project involving 20 ministries/institutions, all provinces, districts/cities, villages/sub-districts, as well as non-governmental organizations.
“The large scale of the program certainly requires a clear division of roles so that they can complement each other and not overlap in achieving the target of a stunting-free Indonesia,” he said.
Third, disseminate the correct understanding of stunting to the community. K.H Ma’ruf Amin said that some people still have misconceptions regarding stunting. Correct understanding is the starting point for carrying out targeted interventions.
After the implementation of the national coordination meeting, a technical coordination meeting (rakortek) will be held which will produce a number of recommendations to formulate regulations and strategies so that the stunting reduction target can be quickly achieved. It is hoped that the continuation of the stunting reduction acceleration program in the new government era will also continue the good steps of the success of the Jokowi-Ma’ruf government.
“Hopefully the stunting reduction acceleration program can continue and be perfected in the following periods, as an effort to create a superior generation in line with the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he concluded. (ant)
